Backend Software Engineer (m/f/d) in Grenoble

As part of a major project to overhaul the systems responsible for managing business processes for a leading European player in the retail sector, we are looking for Backend Software Engineers.

Integrated into the technical teams, they will be responsible for designing innovative solutions covering both the front-end and back-end, ensuring code quality, and adhering to best practices in terms of security and performance. The more experienced ones will also have the opportunity to advance to team leader or technical reference positions, assisting the commercial teams.

Location: Grenoble

Working Time: Full-time

Your Tasks

  • Design, implement and maintain specific parts of the project
  • Be part of the whole project workflow
  • Share the knowledge and experience with other colleagues
  • Bring new ideas and improvements to the development process

What you should bring

JOB SKILLS

  • Degree in computer science, software engineering or similar.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Backend development.
  • Backend skills : Java and Kotlin, Spring.
  • Mastery of build and deployment tools.
  • Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases (e.g. MySQL, MongoDB).
  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and version management tools.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS

  • English both written and spoken imperative; other foreign languages appreciated.
  • Ability to participate in requirements analysis and defining technical specifications.
  • For the ones with more experienced, skills in coordinating technical teams are a plus.

PROFESSIONAL SKILLS

  • Curiosity and a keen interest in technical work.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively.
